The Red-bearded Scourge known as Crimson Jack literally came out of nowheres. Keeping his past to himself he quickly rose in the ranks of a pirate fleet to become powerful enough to break off and start his own operation using a DP-20 Class gunship as his base of operations. Jack likes to think of himself as the 'romanic pirate' portrayed in the holodramas of old that he watched as a child, but he is anything but that. A true sociopath he rules his crew through fear, but keeps their loyalty by offing high rewards in captured cargoes and ships. He is not above selling crews of ships he found into slavery figuring he can make more credits by selling them then spacing them. This does not mean that captured crews are truly safe from his wrath. Jack is known to space, shoot or slowly burn his prisoners for information, to instill fear or just to be entertained. Jack is also not against sending his victims away safely with hopes of either capturing them again or following them to greater riches. His own crew can feel his wrath, but not to such levels as his prisoners. Those that displease Jack can find themselves given anything from a severe beating to being locked in a small dark cell for a number of days. There has been a few times that Jack found out that one of his crew members have amassed such a wealth from their endeavorers that he arranged fatal 'accidents' so he could claim the poor souls prize. Even though Jacks crew is primarily human males he has no problems with aliens and women joining up, or even being pressed, into service on his ships. Many aliens find discomfort with Jack's selling captured alien crews into slavery while others care not as long as it's not them. Jacks fleet consists of a DP-20 Gunship, a stolen T-65 X-wing, several Z-95 Headhunters and Y-wings plus a few uglies. He managed to increase his fleet when he found a battle damaged Star Destroyer drifting in space. After dispatching the surviving crew he was able to garner backing from Jabba the Hutt to repair and modify the starship. Jack was also able to add a few TIE fighters and bombers into his rag tag fleet. Jack would be an ideal advisory to sugarers PC who may find themselves pressed into service to fulfill his greed. But they must be careful or they could not only gain the wrath of Jack, but Jabba as well. |

Which Star Destroyer? As seen in the classic Marvel comics Crimson Jack had a Star Destroyer-class battlecruiser. At the time one assumed that this was what became known as the Imperial I class star destroyer. The Home of the Lost Star Warriors has Jack more logically in command of a Victory I-Class star destroyer. At Wookieepedia they have the Star Destroyer-class battle cruiser as a starship twice the length of the Imperial I-class.
Pick whichever fits your game the best, or you can place him on a DP-20 Gunship which he was in command of when he found his prize. |
